This 'RHONY' Fight Had A Lame Conclusion

by Laura Rosenfeld

Oh, here we are again. Tuesday night's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City began where last week's installment left off: the surprisingly explosive fight between Bethenny Frankel and Heather Thomson. Unfortunately, instead of an exciting conclusion with the ladies finally having it out, they put that wall up that Bethenny wanted and merely made nice.

Before you go to sleep from what seems like a snooze fest, there was some delicious underlying drama to this bout. But if you blinked, you would have missed it.

As you should remember, the two had it out at Dorinda Medley's birthday dinner at her home in the Berkshires because Bethenny felt like Heather was all up in her grill and smothering her. Heather was poking her nose into Bethenny's business way too much, but it was all out of love, you guys. She just wanted to make sure Bethenny got a meatball if she wanted one. How could you snap at someone acting like that?

Well, Bethenny did. We haven't heard this at all this season, but Bethenny has a lot going on in her personal and professional life, and if she talks about it, she will burst into a supernova of hysterics. So don't ask her about it. For the love of God, DO NOT ASK HER ABOUT IT.

That's probably why even after Bethenny and Heather made up during Tuesday night's episode, Heather still wasn't buying Bethenny's hands-off attitude. And rightfully so. Bethenny repeatedly says she doesn't want attention from anyone, but she constantly brings attention to herself, like when she said that the usually bonkers Sonja Morgan was the most sane person at Dorinda's birthday dinner, and that is indeed saying something.

In that regard, I'm also getting a little sick and tired of Bethenny constantly saying woe is me. I know she's going through a tremendous amount of emotional turmoil with her divorce and custody battle, but she sometimes acts like she's the only one with problems when she most certainly is not. The Housewives are made up of widows and divorcees. We've seen Heather's son deal with his health problems on RHONY. Everybody's got stuff to deal with, and yet they can be friendly, civil people (most of the time). Why can't Bethenny?

In typical Housewives fashion, after Bethenny and Heather made up, the ladies split up into two groups and talked about all of the drama. This may not have been what Luann de Lesseps meant, but at least Bethenny is joining in now, right?
