Lilly Pulitzer Presents Resort Line In NYC

by Dana Reszutek

Summer means one thing in the fashion industry: Resort season. With all of the top designers, from Dior's French Riviera show to Gucci's use of fun accessories, showing their collections this past month, it was finally time for a real, resort-based brand to show off its stuff. Thursday, Palm Beach brand Lilly Pulitzer gave an NYC Resort presentation for the first time, and the collection was nothing less of, well...Lilly.

The collection, presented at The New Museum, was a display of tropical prints in blues, pinks, and whites. These colors were paired in an array of silhouettes, all perfect for a day at the beach. From a fitted a-line dress with a pink and blue shell print and matching headband, to an all-white eyelet maxi dress, the collection was a summery escape to the more avant-garde lines being shown in New York.

All of the models (who were all-smiles at the presentation, which, let's face it, is a rare sight) sported easy hairstyles, from top knots to beachy waves, that were not only natural, but flowed perfectly with the getaway-inspired collection. So, if you haven't gotten enough of the tropical brand's looks since their sold-out Target collection (let's face it, those bathing suits are adorable), don't worry, with this Resort line, more Lilly designs will be on store shelves very soon.
