Shop Taylor Swift's Leather Harness Street Style

by Rosie Narasaki

Our favorite "nightmare dressed like a daydream" recently lunched with friend/ " Bad Blood" nemesis Selena Gomez, and she did so whilst looking fly as all heck. Taylor Swift wore a leather harness and her latest look, while fab, is admittedly a marked departure from her usual fare of matched crop top separates, Peter Pan collars, and floral sundresses. This time around, she went for a distressed, oversized graphic tank top, paired equally distressed shorts, leather booties, a cooler-than-cool Louis Vuitton handbag, and, yes, a harness.

The harness was particularly noteworthy — both for its fabulousness, and because some of her fans on Tumblr tried to tease her for wearing it wrong. Swift politely shut them down by joking, "I think you’re ignoring a really important point here… That my harness and I are always ready for a zip line/rock climbing." She also added, "Ask yourself... Are you ready for extreme adventure should it present itself?" I can't say that I'm prepared for impromptu extreme adventure, but I'd sure like to be — needless to say, I started my harness shopping immediately, because to quote the immortal words of Swift herself, "HARNESS LIFE 2015." Here are a few shots of the outfit in action:

Is it a look you'd give a try? Let's explore the shopping options:

Free People

In her post about the practical benefits of harness-wearing, she also noted, "CHECK FREE PEOPLE DOT COM" in the tags — so Free People's probably a good place to start. This one isn't identical to the one she's sporting, but it's pretty darn close (plus, it's on sale).

Pax Harness Vest, $29.95, Free People

Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal's probably the next logical harness-shopping destination — after all, they're just one of the many strange things you'll encounter whilst exploring the popular e-commerce destination.

JAKIMAK Dessa Harness Leather Belt, $85, Nasty Gal

ASOS

Last but not least, ASOS offers a pretty nice harness selection, and this one's simple and to the point — it's high-impact enough to add some sartorial flavor to your favorite outfit, but laid-back enough for a more minimalist approach.

New Look Strap Detail Harness Belt, $14.50, ASOS

And hey, if all else fails, you could always head over to The Stockshop (aka the sex shop Swift borrowed the "Bad Blood" costumes from) — I'm sure they'd have a harness or two.
