Nicole Richie Totally Has Tattoo Regrets

by Lindsey Rose Black

From Simple Life to simply freaking fantastic, Nicole Richie has evolved into a stunning style icon that's got chic on lockdown. During a recent interview with Into The Gloss, Nicole Richie talked tattoo regrets, skincare, and a few other surprising beauty secrets. If this glam gal hasn't won you over yet, this sweet, candid interview might just do the trick.

Throughout the story, Richie reiterated how her beauty and style day-to-day routine is rooted in a fuss-free body-positive attitude. Her conscious but carefree vibes are ones I'd totally love to incorporate into my own morning routine, and I loved these five practical beauty tips she gave.

1. Go Easy On Sensitive Skin

OK, this seems obvious, but how tempting is it to get angry at irritated skin and then just slather everything on it in hopes something will chill it out? Bad idea. Richie knows the sensitive skin struggle is real and shared, "For my skin, I drink a lot of water and coconut water by Harmless Harvest ... I [also] just put on Lancer Skincare's The Method: Nourish Moisturizer, and I have a little Caudalie Beauty Elixir. You’ve got to keep it fresh throughout the day." Loving the low-key but caring attitude.

2. Don't Wash Your Hair

So, that isn't exactly what she said, but Richie did admit to only washing her hair once a week! She moisturizes with coconut oil on the weekends and, otherwise, "sometimes uses a dry shampoo—I like the Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, or R + Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo." Bold move, Richie. I like it.

3. Embrace Oils

Beyond slathering her locks in good 'ol coconut oil, Richie loves essential oils. Asked about her favorites, Richie said, "I use multiple oils for my body—grape seed oil is nice. I’m very natural. I also like Hope Gillerman Organics' Clear Mind Tension Remedy. What I like to do is put three drops on my neck and then let it drip down my spine for 20 minutes. And, you know, let’s not hate on the Body Shop or anything—their stuff is good. This is the Brazil Nut Body Butter—it’s the size that is really heaven—fits right in my bag." YASSSSS Body Shop for the win, girl!

4. Naked Nails Are Nifty

Though Richie is currently rocking black gels, she shared, "I actually just like to have a clean nail sometimes for a while. I like it when a hand is just completely bare—it reminds me of Sade." Ooh la la.

5. Accept Your Previous Style Choices & Move On

When asked about her tattoos, Richie said, "I was a 19-year-old idiot when I got this tattoo on the back of my neck [but] you just got to do your thing and keep it chill." I love Richie's positive attitude toward her tattoos, though maybe next time she'll opt for Rihanna's temporary tattoo line! Either way, she's clearly comfortable in her gorgeous skin and that's what matters most.
