The 'Dope' Soundtrack Will Cure What Ails You

If you're not excited about Dope coming out later this month, I seriously don't know what to say to you, because it's going to be amazing and I've been waiting for months, ever since I saw the full-length trailer a few months ago. The Forrest Whitaker and Sean "Diddy" Combs produced movie is a serious homage to '90s hip hop and also just so happened to be one of the big standouts at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. It's out in theaters today and I can't wait to see it, but more than that, I need to get a hold of the soundtrack ASAP. Thankfully, we have options.

Featuring amazing tracks by the likes of Nas, Public Enemy and A Tribe Called Quest among others, the Dope soundtrack is at your fingertips, like, now if you load up Spotify and press play. I'm actually listening to it as we speak, and I seriously love it so much, particularly because I love a bargain, and you can't get much cheaper than free, am I right? If you're not into streaming and want to add the MP3s to your iPod or phone, you can always download the album from Amazon for only $9.99. Given that the album has 15 tracks, that equals a pretty sweet 66 cents per song. Worth it? I THINK SO.

If you're loyal to iTunes (and who among us isn't?), the Dope soundtrack is also available via the iTunes store for $9.99 as well, so it's good to see that Apple is offering an equally good deal. The bottom line is, wherever you get this music, it has to be had because it's seriously good. Any soundtrack that includes Digable Planets' "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" and Nas' "The World Is Yours" is a guaranteed winner, and that's literally only two of the songs.

Please excuse me while I listen to Dope: Music From The Motion Picture from here until, well, at least the end of summer. The only time I'm going to turn it off is when I'm actually watching the movie. That's a promise.
