Still in denial that a Dumb and Dumber sequel is actually happening, 19 years after the first film was released? Believe it now: According to Time, the sequel Dumb and Dumber To will be released on Nov. 14, 2014 — in other words, a little under a year from now. Get excited! The release was reportedly planned so the movie would be released just before Thanksgiving — likely to take advantage of the movie crowds over the holidays.
Unlike the previous Dumb and Dumber "prequel," Dumb and Dumberer , both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have signed on to return for this sequel, and it'll be a continuation of the first film. In fact, according to Variety , a bit of the plot has already been released by the studio: The sequel will reportedly focus on Lloyd (Carrey) and Harry (Daniels) as they take to the "open road" to find a daughter that that Harry fathered in the past.
The Farrelly brothers, Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly, have returned to write and direct. Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly also involved in the project (she'll be portraying Kathleen Turner's unspecified character as a young woman), which is weird/awesome.
Anyway — one year left! Begin the countdown... now.
