You probably already know that sulfates are an ingredient to steer clear from when searching for a new shampoo if you have a sensitive scalp. Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are the two most popular, and are essentially detergents. Yes, they will give a fun lather that you can totally use to give yourself a Santa Claus beard, but they can also be irritating to the scalp and strip hair of essential oils.
