At this point, it's no secret that Taylor Swift is a feminist. Especially since she told Maxim that it's "probably the most important movement that you could embrace, because it’s just basically another word for equality." Sticking to her beliefs, this weekend the "Bad Blood" singer did something AMAZING. I'm talking about how T. Swift called out OK! Magazine for A. using a misleading headline, and B. referring to her solely as somebody's ex-girlfriend or "rumored girlfriend."
Hello, she's so much more than who she's dated! It's actually pretty infuriating to refer to her in such a way. But don't worry, Tay had the guts to speak up and tweet directly at the magazine:

That comment is worthy of a dozen thumbs up emojis. We do still need feminism for numerous reasons. Women shouldn't be defined by the men in their lives instead of their own accomplishments. Just a few weeks ago, Ariana Grande conveyed a similar message in an epic feminist statement. Grande said,
I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present or future PROPERTY/POSSESSION. I do not belong to anyone but myself, and neither do you.
It's pretty obvious that Taylor Swift agrees with Grande.
