Selena Gomez's "Good For You" Video Looks Hot

by Alex Kritselis

Though it hit the Web ahead of schedule on Saturday afternoon, Selena Gomez's new single, "Good For You," officially premiered on Monday morning. The 22-year-old pop star just dropped a 30-second preview of the track's upcoming music video (due out Friday), and it looks very, very steamy. In the brief clip, Gomez sings "Good For You's" first verse while writhing around on a bright green sofa, wearing nothing but a revealing silk robe. My, my! The visual certainly looks as though it will mirror the slow jam's sexy vibe. Hopefully, it will help the song become a hit.

I was really looking forward to hearing "Good For You" last week, but unfortunately, it's not my cup of tea. I appreciate that Gomez is trying something new, but to be perfectly honest, I find the tune to be a bit... boring. It lacks a strong hook (and I suspect pop radio isn't going to like that). Yes, some of "Good For You's" lyrics are sexy (the line "And syncopate my skin to your heart beating" stands out), but I feel like the track just plods along at the same low level of intensity for three and a half minutes and then ends. If you ask me, it's definitely not a home run.

I'm crossing my fingers that the "Good For You" music video will give the song the "oomph" it needs. The teaser is promising. Check it out below.

"Good For You" is available on iTunes and Spotify now.
