Chris Pratt Reenacts Raptor Scene With Kids

by Lisa Fogarty

Chris Pratt is the gift that keeps on giving. Every time I learn something new about him or hear him speak, he separates himself even further from the goofy persona that defined him on Parks and Recreation. He's still extremely funny — and he'll always be a treat to look at — but the Jurassic World star is also making a name for himself as a charitable force who gives back in big ways. While filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Chris Pratt visited the children at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, entertained them by reenacting scenes from the blockbuster film, and handed out Jurassic World treats, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The hospital expressed its gratitude to the star on its Facebook page by writing: "Our patients were all smiles and we are so thankful to Chris for lifting their spirits by visiting and handing out Jurassic World goodies."

In the adorable photos they posted, the 6'2" charmer can be seen teaching the kiddies how to train raptors, playing games with them, signing posters for his little fans, and even making bedside visits with children who were likely too sick to join him in the rec room. I don't think Pratt was ever in any real danger of being labeled a diva anytime soon, but one might make the assumption that, given the greater star power he has acquired since taking roles in Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy, he might become too big for his britches. Not a chance.

I mean, look at the man in action:

This one just chokes me up — genuine kindness caught on camera:

This isn't the first time Pratt has used his star power for the greater good of others. He and actor Chris Evans raised $27,000 for both The Seattle Children's Hospital and Christopher's Haven in Boston as part of a Superbowl bet. Holding up his end of the bargain after losing his bet, Pratt dressed up as Marvel comics character Star-Lord and entertained the children at Christopher's Haven.

The actor is famously crazy about his family, including 2-year-old Jack, whose mom is fellow funny actress Anna Faris. A lot of parents discover their empathy for children in need increases tenfold after they have their own children, and given the scare the couple had when Jack was born two months prematurely, I can't help but wonder whether that might be contributing to all of the great work Pratt is doing at children's hospitals.

The reasons behind his actions don't matter — the actor is proving he's so much more than a guy with a buff body who can tell a few really good jokes. He's also a man with a heart of gold.
