Danity Kane's Aubrey & Shannon Are A Band Again

by Nicole Pomarico

If you're anything like me, hearing the words "Danity Kane" is basically a time machine back to 2006. Almost 10 years ago, the band won VH1's Making The Band and took over pop radio, disappearing a couple of years later just as suddenly. If you miss Danity Kane (and still occasionally listen to "Showstopper" and "Damaged"), I have good news for you. The band may be no more, but two of the original members have joined up to make music together all over again. Aubrey O'Day and Shannon Bex are now Dumblonde, which means all of my dreams of reliving music from the early 2000s are finally coming true.

Although O'Day has definitely been busy making appearances on various reality shows, like her recent stint on Marriage Boot Camp with former fiance Travis Garland, now that Danity Kane is over for real (believe it or not, their breakup is a very recent thing), she's ready to move on to the next adventure in her career. Although O'Day and Bex have yet to release any music under their new band name, they definitely seem like they're ready to get this show on the road.

So what's up with their new band? Let me fill you in.

They're already talking in unison

In this interview with MTV, O'Day and Bex introduced the idea of their band, which is just getting started. As you can see, they've totally hopped on the gray hair trend, and I kind of like it.

They're managed by Justin Timberlake's guy

After working with Johnny Wright on Making The Band, they scooped him up as their manager for their latest venture. Not a bad idea, since any musician should want to have the help of the guy who assisted Justin Timberlake in catapulting to fame.

Their music has an '80s electronic vibe

They haven't released any full length songs yet — and their fans are getting a bit testy on Instagram, since they were promised a visual EP in April — but this snippet gives you a good idea of what they'll sound like when they do release their music. I don't hate it!

They're officially done with their first album

And according to a comment left on Instagram by someone who's worked with them, it should be dropping this summer. I'm looking forward to hearing their new sound... even if it's definitely nothing like what they've worked on before. Danity Kane lives on, y'all!
