Kelly Clarkson's Christmas Wish Has Come True

by Kate Ward

First came love, then came a quick marriage, then, even faster than From Justin to Kelly was in theaters, a baby is on its way to the baby carriage. That's right — less than one month after marrying fiancé Brandon Blackstock in a secret wedding, Kelly Clarkson announced she's expecting her first child with her husband. (Blackstock has two children, 11-year-old Savannah and 7-year-old Seth form a previous marriage.)

As typical for Clarkson — who depends on social media for most of her personal announcements — the "Since U Been Gone" singer told fans she was expecting on Twitter. Wrote the singer, "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)"

That said, it's not a completely surprising Christmas present — the singer had talked to several members of the media about her desire to get pregnant since her October wedding. Even just one week ago, Clarkson appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and told the host she eventually hoped to have five children. "We are not announcing anything right now," Clarkson said on the late night show, hinting at a possible pregnancy. "Practice makes perfect! Like rabbits!"

The comments came just weeks after Clarkson rang into radio's Valentine in the Morning and said, "Everybody keeps saying, ‘What do you want for Christmas?' And I'm like, ‘I want to be pregnant.'"

So, clearly, Clarkson is getting her Christmas wish — but will we get ours? After all, with Kelly Clarkson's Christmas album now on the shelves, it's high time she release a lullaby album, right?
