These Bobby Jindal Memes Will Make Your Day Better

by Jo Yurcaba

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal announced on Twitter Wednesday that he will be running for president in the 2016 election, becoming the 13th Republican candidate to join the race. So far, Jindal has tried to make himself stand out from the pack by playing up his Catholicism and saying that Republicans who usually compromise on immigration and health-care reform under President Barack Obama "need a spine," according to the The Washington Post. He has been widely criticized for insisting that any immigrants who come into the U.S. assimilate as soon as possible and stop calling themselves Indian Americans or Asian Americans, even though he's the first Indian American candidate to ever seriously run for president. If reading about his silly, conflicting statements makes you uneasy, here are some Jindal memes that make his announcement better.

He has been recently made fun of for his remarks about religious freedom: "The United States of America did not create religious liberty, religious liberty created the United States of America," according to CNN. In May, he even introduced a religious "freedom" bill to help protect Christians from discrimination. You read that right. He said forcing people with the religious belief that marriage should be between one and and one woman to serve same-sex couples discriminates against the people with those beliefs, according to MSNBC.

He was selected in 2009 to give the GOP response to Obama's first address to Congress, and he stumbled through the entire thing. The Post called him "overly slow and over-earnest," like he was explaining government to toddlers (he called Obamacare "Obamaney"). People have since compared him to Kenneth the Page from 30 Rock. According to the Post, Jindal is behind all of the other presidential candidates in current polls. Even worse, current polls list "None of the above" as a choice, and Jindal is even behind that choice, which got 2 percent of the votes. Here are some of the greatest memes that call Jindal out on some of his confusing statements and beliefs:

He said racism might not exist if people didn't place "undue emphasis" on their "separateness," and instead just acted like Americans:

He's said the Republican party is known as "the stupid party," and that he wants to fix that:
