How To Make Your Eyebrows Straight

OK, I'll admit it: I'm pretty much obsessed with making sure my eyebrows are on fleek at any given moment. So when I heard about this new trend of how to make your eyebrows straight, I immediately needed to educate myself on what that exactly meant. Obviously the trend's name tells all, but my specific question was, what was this style of eyebrows all about, and how could it make my eyebrow game even stronger?

The straight brow trend has been around for a while, but has grown in popularity over the last couple of years (along with the rise of Korean beauty in general). The Korean-born, straight-away brow look became super popular gives off a more boyish, masculine look, and it's definitely grown on me.

Personally, I've always enjoyed my eyebrows having a slight arch. But since my features are big, I'm probably going to stay away from the trend. Ramy Gafni, RAMY Founder and celebrity brow expert, explains, "The straight brow can look expressionless and severe, so it looks best on someone with delicate, small features".

Still, if you're game, small features or not, I'm sure you can definitely pull of the straight brow look. If you can own it, you can rock it!

If you're looking for a new way to amp your eyebrows and try something different, here are three ways to get the straight eyebrow look:

1. Shave Off Downward Hairs

To get rid of the arch, go to the end of your eyebrow near the tail and razor off the hairs that go downward. This will allow your eyebrows to appear straighter. However, be super careful in not razoring off too much, but just the right amount. Your eyebrows should still have a good length across your eye.

2. Trim All Hairs That Hang On The Bottom Of Your Brow

Brush all of your hair downward, and trim off the eyebrow hairs that dangle over your natural brow. I'd actually recommend this for all eyebrow shapes. It just helps keeps the brows clean and fresh. And with a more boyish eyebrow style like the straight-away, keeping them tame will help create a softer look.

3. Fill In With Makeup

When in doubt, always fill in with makeup. If you don't want to touch your eyebrows at all, filling in your eyebrows can create the straight away look. Start from your inner eyebrow all the way to the end. Try using a straight line guide like a business card to help align the drawn brow correctly. Avoid using highlighters that create the illusion of an arch.
