Pride-ify Your Profile Picture Today

by Mikaela Gilbert-Lurie

If you just woke up or left the rock you've been living under and are wondering why the whole Internet is dripping with rainbows, it's because the best thing ever just happened: the Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage bans are unconstitutional. After letting out a collective sigh of relief and sharing sentiments about how it's "about effing time," everyone burrowed into his or her own little corner of social media to share all the feelings. From Twitter, to Instagram, to Tumblr, literally everything is covered in glitter, rainbows and gorgeous photos of same sex couples in love. Do you want to add rainbows to your life? (Is that even a question? of course you do.) Facebook is here to help!

Facebook just released a cool little feature that lets you pride-ify your profile picture. It takes your current profile picture and covers it in a rainbow filter, which honestly is surprisingly flattering. All you have to do is click on that link and it'll take you to a page where you'll see what your profile picture will look like once it's filtered (or, if you're one of those people who isn't constantly logged into Facebook, it will prompt you to log in first). Then all you have to do is click "Use as Profile Picture" and wait while it adds the filter.

If you want your friends to be able to change their pictures easily, too, you can leave the default caption on the photo, which links to the app; you can also go ahead and change that caption, though. It's your pride profile picture — you can do what you want.

Here's what the screen will look like when you first click on the link:

Here's the picture before it was filtered (those are my parents — hi, guys!):

This one is clearly better.
