Twitter Reacts To Carli Lloyd's Amazing Feats

by Hilary Weaver

During the first few minutes of the game, fans were already going nuts for the action. The U.S. team scored four goals in the first 16 minutes of the game, prompting Twitter to practically turn red, white, and blue. Time to reboot every playlist cued up last night at firework ceremonies from coast to coast. At the start of the game, the U.S. women were on fire with their plays. Following a corner kick from Megan Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd scored a point for the U.S. before minute 3, according to the AP. And just two minutes later, Lloyd sent the ball reeling toward the net. And the Twitter reactions over four goals in 16 minutes were just as fast and ferocious as Lloyd's hand-eye coordination.

Let's just go ahead and call this Hat Trick Sunday, thanks to Lloyd's ambitious sprints across Vancouver's BC Place Stadium. And after those first few minutes, Canada might just have become more patriotic than a melting bomb pop on the Fourth of July. And you didn't have to be in the stadium to feel the patriotic glow. Here are the reactions blowing up Twitter after Lloyd's heroic moves in the final game.

Ah, Dean, we missed you! Thanks for showing face for Carli Lloyd and Team U.S.A.!

And thank you, Carli Lloyd, for giving us all something to watch over and over again. OK, game on. Literally. Let's do this.
