What Carli Lloyd On The $10 Would Look Like

For the first time since 1999, the U.S. women's soccer team has won the Women's World Cup. On Sunday, high fives were flying, "U.S.A! U.S.A.!" was being chanted, beers were clinking, all in honor of the amazing victory of the U.S. team over Japan, in large part due to the completely bad-ass efforts of Carli Lloyd. Lloyd, an attacking midfield for the USWNT, scored three goals in the first 16 minutes of the game (a feat totally unprecedented in the history of the women's World Cup), and basically proving beyond the shadow of any doubt (and come on, after those first few minutes, who was doubting, anyways?) that she kicks ass and is an incredibly clutch player. To celebrate this, some Twitter users have imagined what it would look like if we honored Carli Lloyd's skills and bravado by putting her on the $10 bill.

It's so fun to think of the huge variety of women role models we could see on the new $10 bill that will feature a woman, and any way that we can uplift and support female pro-athletes (who rarely get their due props from the mainstream media) would be awesome. Even though it's most likely we will see a women's activist or politician on the new $10, there's nothing that says we can't imagine what it would be like to see Lloyd's winning smile on our cash.

Some have said that putting Lloyd on the new $10 bill makes sense not only because she's a newly minted American hero, but also because her jersey is #10. So, it's clearly a sign.

Plus think of how great it would be to have such fierce power displayed on our money (instead of the cranky looking dudes we currently have). This bill literally screams "girl power!"

Duh.

While scoring the fastest hat trick in women's World Cup history, and single-handedly (single-footedly?!) breaking the record for most points scored by a single team in the women's Cup might not land Lloyd on the $10, it has certainly sealed her spot in sport's history, and our hearts (awww!). Congratulations to Carli Lloyd and all of team U.S.A.!
