Cara Went Mermaid-y In Australia For 'Paper Towns'

by Rosie Narasaki

The closer we get to the premiere of Paper Towns, the more it's becoming clear that Cara Delevingne's on the brink of launching a killer acting career. Oh, and that Delevingne has some seriously good taste. Reviews are already praising the film — in fact, the general consensus seems to be that in a face-off between the John Green books-turned-movies, Paper Towns would reign victorious over last year's ultra-successful summer tearjerker, The Fault in Our Stars. Add that to the fact that Cara's already being singled out for her performance (especially her "smoky eyes and smokier voice" — funnily enough, both Variety AND The Wrap saw fit to bring up her apparent smokiness), and you've got yourself quite the career-booster.

What with all of the acting success on the roster (and the little fact that she's no longer on Storm Model's website), people are quickly saying her modeling days are behind her — but luckily, she's still majorly using her Derek Zoolander-approved skills on the red carpet. Her whole Paper Towns press tour has been pretty darn fabulous, and her latest look at the Australian premiere of the movie might just be her best yet: She wore a very mermaid-esque mini dress designed by Australia-based Dion Lee, and it's nothing short of gorgeous.

She styled the look with some chic rust-orange eyeshadow (which provided a nice counterpart to the deep blue-green of the dress), a sleek (and shiny!) half-up hairdo, and some simple sandals — let's take a look!

OK, I think I see why not one, but two film critics felt it necessary to bring up the smokiness of her eyes — I mean, wow. Add all that fab to her recent comments on sexism in superhero movies and her outspoken stance on same-sex marriage, and you've got one kickass movie star to be.
