In case you needed inspiration to go out and do something summery with your life, the Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled on a Slip'N Slide in an hour was just set in Fort Worth, Texas. The record, which was set by the Trinity River Vision Authority on Panther Island, clocked in at 2,541,060 feet; for the curious, that's a little under the distance from San Francisco to San Diego — more than half the length of the state of California along its coastline. That is a lot of slipping and sliding. A spokesperson for TRVA said the Slip 'N Slide was part of a festival to "celebrate Fort Worth's birthday the right way," and if that's the right way to do things, I never want to be wrong again.
Some other summery, watery, and awe-inspiring records include the world's tallest water slide in Kansas, the most spray tans in one hour (78) in Glasgow, the largest swimming lesson (with over 1,000 participants), the largest bikini photo shoot in China (with over 3,000 models), and the largest mojito in the world (holding over 500 gallons).
