Gwyneth Paltrow Glows At The Valentino Couture

by Lindsey Rose Black

Rome was full of gorgeous celebrities yesterday, but one stood out above the rest. InStyle found Gwyneth Paltrow at the Valentino Couture Show absolutely beaming as she posed for photographers. The star's dramatic, bold look totally stole the show in the ancient city, and Paltrow has now undoubtedly earned the title style icon.

The actress/lifestyle guru is no stranger to standing in the spotlight, and her red carpet style has definitely evolved over the years. The star claims she's never felt more comfortable with herself, totally embraces wrinkles, and gives off that mellow confidence that comes with accepting yourself 100 percent.

At the fashion show, which Valentino Garavani personally invited her to, the dazzling lady arrived in a firecracker red floor-length Valentino gown featuring a sexy, plunging neckline. The dress balanced couture chic and billowy boho simultaneously, and Paltrow wore it effortlessly.

Given the dramatic volume and fierce color of the dress, the star kept her makeup summertime fresh and super simple. The GOOP goddess went for a barely-there look with just a touch of blush and soft pink lipgloss. She wore her signature pin-straight locks down, which framed her face and kept the dress looking playful. The best accessory, though? Her sweet, honest smile.

Bonus points for the cape-like back of this dress potentially turning Paltrow into superwoman.

Paltrow took some time to build up to her Valentino couture icon status, though. Back in 2007, she was mastering the cute and sweet look.

And then tried out a touch of goth.

Which she swapped out for some intense cutouts and all white.
