Shu Uemura + Maison Kitsune Are Collaborating

Beloved cult Japanese beauty brand Shu Uemura is known for its inimitable eyelash curlers and last year's delish collab with Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette. Maison Kitsune is a clothing and music company based in Paris. Shu Uemura and Kitsune are collaborating on a holiday makeup collection that sounds like it will be a truly global and beautiful affair.

Women's Wear Daily got the the scoop on the range. Photos have yet to be released and only a few details have been made public. Even so, I am already adding these items, sight unseen, to my wishlist this holiday season.

You will follow suit when you find out some of the details of this mashup.

If you are not super familiar with Kitsune, here's the skinny. It launched in 2002 and began as a record label and expanded into fashion. The brand takes its name from the Japanese word for "fox" and boasts a fox logo.

Kitsune offers contemporary classics for both women and men, mixing Parisian and Tokyo influences.

Therefore, it makes total sense for Kitsune to team up with Shu, which enjoys serious cult status and a dedicated, diehard fanbase. Kitsune has stores and cafes, with boutiques in Paris, New York, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Yes, it's truly global.

Given each brand's aesthetic, there's really no way this can be anything but truly awesome, with a bunch of covetable items.

I know we're smack dab in the middle of July and the hottest months of the year, but there's no harm in looking ahead to the holiday season.

Here's everything we know about Shu x Kitsune.

1. 25 Is The Magic Number

Do the math. There will be 23 cosmetic pieces, along with two hair care products. So the magic number is 25. That's a pretty expansive range.

2. October!

According to WWD, the collection lands in October and runs through December. You know what that is — the height of holiday shopping season.

3. Cultural Collision

The collabo is described as fusing "Parisian timeless elegance with Eastern influences," per WWD. This foxy sweater gives you a visual of the Kitsune aesthetic.

I've been trolling the Kitsune IG feed and I'm down. I'm in. I cannot wait to see these cosmetic offerings, because of where they take inspo.
