Will Kris Support Caitlyn At The ESPY Awards?

by Michelle McGahan

The 2015 ESPY Awards are set to be a milestone in the life of Caitlyn Jenner, who is being honored on Wednesday, July 15, with the prestigious Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Jenner may have became a national hero after winning the gold medal in the decathlon during the 1976 Olympics, but it was her gender transition earlier this year that turned her into a straight-up pioneer. With the incredible amount of support Jenner has received all over the world, fans everywhere are wondering who in the Kardashian-Jenner clan will support her in person tonight. And namely, will Kris Jenner attend the 2015 ESPYs?

Though the decision to honor Jenner with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award has already been met with backlash from people who feel that she does not deserve it (haters to the left), the former Olympian's family is more than supportive — just like how they've been throughout her transition. According to TMZ, of the Kardashian kids, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie will all be in attendance tonight, as well as Brody, Burt, and Cassandra from the Jenner side. (The site speculates that Brandon "is up in the air" because his wife is close to giving birth, and that Rob may not attend since he's been pretty absent from the public eye this whole year. I speculate that Kourtney may not be there just because of all of the Scott Disick relationship drama at the moment, though I am sure she fully supports Jenner.) Caitlyn Jenner's mom and sister will also reportedly be on site to watch her accept the award. But where does that leave Kris?

If the sources at TMZ are to be believed, Kris will not be there. According to the site, none of Jenner's ex-wives will be in attendance — meaning that Christie Crownover, Linda Thompson, and Kris Jenner are all not attending the 2015 ESPYs on Wednesday. "We're told Caitlyn wants her family there, and the exes are not family anymore," the site claims.

Hmmm. Though Jenner has admitted to not always being the best parent to "the Jenner kids," it seems as if she has always maintained a relatively good relationship with her ex-wives, all of whom spoke out in support of her gender transition in 2015. Though her relationship with Kris Jenner might be a little more tense — considering their divorce was the most recent and Kris claims she was not aware of Jenner's true feelings during their marriage — the Kardashian momager has been nothing but supportive and proud of her ex since she came out as transgender.

Hollywood Life reports that Kris Jenner is seriously pissed about the lack of invitation, with an insider allegedly telling the site that "Kris knows and understands in her heart the magnitude of this night and what it means to Caitlyn and she would have loved to have been there to show support."

Regardless of Kris Jenner's physical attendance at the event — and no matter what her current feelings towards her ex may be — it's clear that she supports Caitlyn Jenner in her decision to live truthfully and freely and considers her as much of a courageous and bold hero as the good people at the ESPYs do.
