7 Real Stars Who Need To Become 'Real Housewives'

by Marenah Dobin

There have been quite a few shakeups with the many Real Housewives casts in recent days. Housewives have been fired, Housewives have quit, and I feel like there's such a void. Who is going to fill in the gaps? We need some new Housewives and we need them now! And who better to join Real Housewives than some real celebrities?

The casting of these shows is pretty important to me. I am very invested and I end up talking about these women as if they're actually a part of my own life. With that being said, it's pretty tough to get to know someone new on television. This is why I think that Bravo should cast some Housewives who we already know. There are plenty of lovable celebrities who could add something great to the franchise. And to be honest, there are plenty of celebs who are out of work and could use the spotlight again. You know the kind of people I'm talking about. They are technically celebrities, but they don't come up in every day conversation anymore. I'm thinking about the women who could use the career revival.

Lisa Rinna joining the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has worked out really well and is a great example of a celebrity doing well in this reality television format. I have a few women in mind who, like Lisa, would make great additions:

1. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi

I never expected to love Snooki when she first rolled into the Jersey Shore house, but she has grown to be one of the most endearing people on reality television. Her show with Jenni "JWoww" Farley was adorable and her family is precious. Snooki really has her life together, but she is not boring about it. She would be a fun addition to the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast.

2. Denise Richards

I could use some Denise Richards in my life. First of all, she is not bad to look at. Second, she doesn't seem to be super busy these days, so joining Real Housewives of Beverly Hills could be a great option for her. She is an interesting person who isn't afraid to speak her mind. Plus, she has three kids, loves rescuing animals, and occasionally babysits for Charlie Sheen. She needs to be on reality television.

3. Kathy Hilton

I know that the rumors of this casting have been shot down in the past, but I think this idea should be revisited. Kathy Hilton is sisters with Kim and Kyle Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, so joining the show would not be completely random. She lives a fabulous lifestyle, and I would love to learn more about the Richards family dynamic from another perspective.

4. LeAnn Rimes

I know that casting LeAnn Rimes on RHOBH seems like a fruitless move now that Brandi Glanville is off the show, but hear me out. I think that this decision could serve as some sort of ironic justice for Brandi. I actually watched some of Rimes' short-lived reality show LeAnn & Eddie (judge me) and this woman seems to be pretty difficult. If the ladies had to interact with her, maybe they would understand some of Brandi's struggle over the years.

5. Fantasia Barrino

I miss Fantasia Barrino. Her career did not exactly take off post-American Idol, which is such a shame since she is a very talented singer. She just needs to drum up some interest and I could see her making a mark on the music industry. She appeared on Kandi Burruss' Bravo wedding special, so she already has a connection to the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast. It would be a natural fit and give Kandi a loyal ally.

6. Vanessa Bryant

This is a pretty random idea, but I was trying to think of Los Angeles royalty and my thoughts immediately turned to the Lakers and Kobe Bryant. His wife Vanessa is beautiful and it would be cool for her to get her own time in the spotlight. Plus, I would love to see her add some diversity to the Real Housewives of Orange County.

7. Dina Lohan

I am not sure why, but there's something about the Lohan family that captivates me. I feel like Dina Lohan would add a funny level of crazy to The Real Housewives of New York City cast. She is scrappy and I could totally see her going at it with the ladies. It would definitely add some excitement to the show.

While someone like, say, Angelina Jolie, would never get cast on the show, all of the options above are actually pretty plausible. Make it happen, Bravo.
