Rogelio Reacts To This 'Jane The Virgin' Snub

by Kristie Rohwedder

Something very terrible happened Thursday morning. Something I will not soon forget. Something I will carry in my heart until the end of time. What was that something? Oh, just the snub to end all snubs: Jane the Virgin star Jaime Camil wasn't nominated for an Emmy, that’s what happened. I know, right? As anyone who watches Jane the Virgin will tell you, this is a crock of dung (same goes for the Gina Rodriguez snub. Ugh, JtV was absolutely hosed by the 215k Emmys) (OK fine, the Emmys didn't mess everything up: I am beyond stoked about Anthony Mendez's nomination, aka the most wonderful narrator there ever was). Not only is Camil's Rogelio De La Vega one of the most perfect characters on television right now, but that beautiful For Your Consideration campaign was next-level. Are you not entertained, Emmy voters?

I'm not the only one who is upset about this oversight; Rogelio De La Vega is NOT having it for a second. How do I know this? Well, I just so happened to be right next to the fictional character when he found out Camil wasn't nominated. I know, I know. I'm a lucky gal. A lucky gal who is kind enough to share Rogelio's reactions with the rest of the class:

Let's kick start things off on a good note! When Rogelio found out Anthony Mendez was nominated for Outstanding Narrator, he celebrated accordingly.

But then, it happened: Rogelio realized Jaime Camil wasn't nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series.

Rogelio reacted out loud to Jaime Camil’s snub.

Rogelio read the list of nominees again and reacted out loud again.

Rogelio explained why he kept shouting "WHAT?!" out loud.

Needless to say, Rogelio does not agree with the Emmy voters.

He really, really does not agree with the Emmy voters.

Rogelio considered taking to Twitter to let the universe know what a mistake it made.

To drive home just how furious he was, he dropped a fork on the floor.

Rogelio considered pulling an "Imma let you finish, 2015 Emmys, but Jaime Camil gave the best performance of all time" on September 20.

But then, Rogelio decided against against this idea; he doesn't want to offend the other excellent nominees.

And then, it happened: Rogelio could sense his eyes were about to well up with tears.

Rogelio decided he needed to get away from the Emmy nominations before the waterworks commenced.

Rogelio did the only thing that seemed right: he poured himself a strong libation.

OK, Emmys 2016. Your move. Don't let Rogelio down a second year in a row.
