Get Park Shin Hye's Beauty Look From 'Heirs'

Have you had a chance to catch up on Heirs yet? If you haven't yet, you totally should — it's got the the palm trees and open-topped cars of Clueless, the headband-sporting Blair Waldorfs of Gossip Girl, and the class-defying relationship dramarama of Pride and Prejudice. And as an added bonus, it just so happens to feature a love triangle between Park Shin Hye, Lee Min Ho, and Kim Woo Bin (which is basically the polar opposite of being stuck between a rock and a hard place, if you ask me). Plus, since this is a K-drama we're talking about here, you can bet that Shin Hye's beauty game is on point — and it's definitely a look you'll want to take for a spin.

After all, it's tough to beat Shin Hye in terms of that effortlessly cool vibe — she's one of the biggest stars of the moment, so who better to turn to for cosmetic inspiration? I mean, she's starred in three ultra-popular dramas over the past couple years, she's got a nice endorsement deal with cosmetic brand Mamonde (among others), and she's got some seriously killer red carpet style. Suffice it to say, she always looks awesome — but she looks particularly killer in Heirs. Her character, Cha Eun Jae, rocks a gorgeously pared-down beauty look, featuring neutral eye makeup, flawless skin, and some muted fuchsia lips that practically scream summer.

I mean, even though she's sad that her sister's a grifter, that her mother's hearing-impaired, and that she's stuck in a foreign country without plane fare or a passport, she still looks pretty darn gorgeous, right? Let's give it a try.

The Base

My skin is not exactly loving me this week, but I did my darnedest to create as flawless a canvas as possible. I started with a base of BB cream (IOPE Cushion BB), then I targeted my acne/acne scars and dark circles with some concealer (I'm currently taking Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser for a whirl, and so far so good!). I also added a touch of illuminator (Benefit High Beam) to the tops of my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, and on my forehead to mimic Shin Hye's enviably dewy skin.

The Eyebrows

Shin Hye rocks an eyebrow look that carefully toes the line between defined and diffused, so I mixed a light powder eyeshadow (MAC Eyeshadow in Soba) and a darker brow pencil (Laneige Natural Brow Liner in Stone Grey — for all of my fellow dark-haired ladies, it's the perfect graphite shade to go with ultra-black hair). I applied the pencil to the outer edges of my brows to define my wispy brow-tail, then layered over with some pale brown shadow — I started from the inner brows and worked my way out, using an angled liner brush. Finally, I brushed it all out with a spoolie.

Also, if your brow shape will support it, try and keep your brows angled straight across to really capture Shin Hye's winsomely youthful look.

The Eyeshadow

For the eyeshadow, I used Soba (again) all the way up to my crease — then I added some pale shimmery shadow (Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sin) to my browbone, and defined the upper and lower outer corner with just a touch of brown/bronze shadow (Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Smog). Keep the outer corner shadow subtle, and angle it slightly downward — it should help you mimic Shin Hye's eye shape.

The Eyeliner

Shin Hye's eyeliner is surprisingly subtle — there's no visible wing, and the line is very, very thin. To best copy her style, I stuck to waterlining my upper lid with gel eyeliner (Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner in Caviar Ink), filling in between my lashes as needed. Then, I topped it off with a feathery mascara (Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara) — it's not the most dramatic mascara in the world, but as a proud glasses-wearer, I find it's one of the only formulas that doesn't make my lashes get stuck to my lenses).

The Lips

For the finishing touch, I used Maybelline Rebel Bloom in Orchid Ecstasy, which is surprisingly perfect for the job. It looks intimidatingly purple in the tube, but it actually applies a touch sheer, allowing your natural lip color to peek through. To get Shin Hye's glossy look, I topped the purple-tinged shade with a matching sheer gloss (Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Fuchsia Finery).

And there you go! It's a nice subtle look, with a fun pop of color — perfect for hanging out with all of South Korea's next generation of billionaires, eh?
