These 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Stills Are So Exciting

On a day when the Emmy nominations are announced, you might think the Pop Culture Gods in the Sky have bestowed all their kindnesses on us for one day, but not so! We must pause in our celebrations, however, to cast our eyes on new stills from X-Men: Apocalypse , which were just released! Well, just released to us normals, anyway, who couldn't tear ourselves away from our jobs and lives to go get a sneak peek at San Diego Comic Con. Those lucky souls have already gotten a glimpse of the new characters and costumes, but for the rest of us, Entertainment Weekly is swooping in to save us with a first look. Sigh of relief.

On the cover, we have a glimpse of one old reliable character and one bright shiny new one, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr/Magneto and Olivia Munn as Betsty Braddock/Psylocke, respectively. It seems that Fassbender is pretty covered up in what looks like a fairly traditional costume for what we've seen the character in so far (aka, in the rest of the franchise), and, of course, Munn looks absolutely fantastic in her leotard.

They both look like total badasses, which you'll notice is a theme throughout the five exclusive photos that EW got their hands on. Just check out Jennifer Lawrence and Evan Peters looking just-home-from-the-beach fabulous as the human counterparts — Raven and Peter — to Mystique and Quicksilver in this shot:

Oh yes. And speaking of amazing hair, check out your girl Alexandra Shipp and her fabulous mohawk in the role of Ororo Munroe/Storm, looking like a million bucks next to Munn as Psylocke again, and then that's Oscar Isaac as En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse, if you can believe it. (Even though he looks absolutely nothing like himself.)

The magazine also has a couple more photos of the whole cast as their human selves, but these three are the ones that really have me on the edge of my seat ready for May 27, 2016, when this film finally comes out. That's a long time to wait, so here's hoping they keep teasing us with images like these. Fingers crossed!
