Ed Sheeran Helps Friend Propose During Soundcheck

It's no secret that Ed Sheeran is an all-around great guy. You kind of have to be a stellar fella in order to be Taylor Swift's BFF/No. One third wheel. Over the weekend, Ed Sheeran out Ed Sheeran-ed himself by singing an acoustic version of his song “Tenerife Sea” while a fellow musician friend got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. The couple, Jake Roch of the band Rixton and Jesy Nelson of Little Mix were in the middle of soundcheck at Manchester Arena when Sheeran popped on stage and started strumming this romantic tune. Moments later, the couple was engaged.

Nelson gushed on her Instagram writing, "I cannot believe what has just happened! The most surreal moment of my life and everyone that I love most was there to share it with us! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world rite now literally cannot stop crying! Future Mrs Roche." The glowing groom-to-be also shared his excitement and gratitude by tweeting, "Travelled 5 hours to sing our favourite song on his day off. I will never ever be able to repay you. Love you pal. @edsheeran." In true Ed Sheeran form his response was equally sweet and funny, "@Jake_Rixton my absolute pleasure. Thanks for the KFC." A real gentleman, that Ed Sheeran.
