You HAVE To See These Then-And-Now Wedding Photos

In case you find yourself in need of a tear-inducing piece of adorableness to see out your Tuesday afternoon, allow me to present you with these then-and-now wedding photos, taken 40 years apart. Redditor magic976 posted the adorable photoset to Imgur and the r/Pics subreddit about a week and a half ago, pairing two images shot on their parents' wedding day in 1975 with two recreations of the same photos shot on their anniversary in 2015. The pics are currently making the rounds, so let's all just take a moment to oooh and aaaah and possibly go hunt down a box of tissues, because it's just too sweet for words.

In recounting how the two lovebirds met, magic976 noted that their dad was “smooth”: “They met in a bar called 'The Lower Level' and his first words to her were 'You wanna boogie?' If that isn't the start to a great love story, I don't know what is.” Ayyyyy-men. Oh, and in case you didn't think the whole story could get any cuter, it does: Mom made her own wedding dress, as well as Dad's jacket — items of clothing which they both pulled out of storage and got all spiffed up in again for the 2015 photos. Are you ready for this? Really? Really, really, really? OK, here you go. Here's 1975:

And here's 2015:

And here's 1975 again (how fabulous is Mom's hat, by the way?):

And here's 2015 again:

You guys? I am dead from the cuteness. Seriously. My icy little heart just melted and subsequently exploded.

For the curious, the only differences between the photos (besides the 40 years between them) are the bikes and the houses. According to magic976, the 1975 bike belonged to their uncle, so they're not totally sure what model it was. The Harley in the 2015 photo, however, is a 1996 Heritage Softail. (In case that means anything to you. I don't know bikes, so it's just a random string of numbers and words to me). The 1975 house, meanwhile, was magic976's grandparents' house, while 2015 house is the one their parents have lived in for more than 30 years.

You know didn't change from decade to decade, though? How clearly in love these two people are. And that? Gives me a little more faith in humanity, and the power of love, and all that good stuff.

But wait! There's more!

A handful of other Redditors attempted to touch up the older set of photos and bring them back to something resembling their former glory. Cary_granite color retouched them both:

As did AnudderCast:

While tlaloc99 threw in this reworking of the motorcycle photo:

Way to go, nice people of the Internet. Sometimes it seems like there aren't enough of you out there, but we all appreciate the fact that you exist and do things like this. Bravo.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go grab that box of tissues I was talking about earlier.
