It might sound vain, but who doesn't like it when their hair looks and feels its best? However, as much as I want to do what's best for my hair, treatments at a salon can cost a fortune. No one has time for that. Luckily, there are tons of things out there that can be beneficial for your hair. You don't even have to leave your house to get a luxurious hair treatment. You just have to look in your pantry.

We've all heard about how eggs, honey, and mayo can do wonders for your hair. However, there are several food items that you would never expect to be great for your hair that are lurking in your cabinets. Not only can you clean out your pantry, but you can also revitalize your hair. This is the stuff that Pinterest-dreams are made out of. You don't need to spend a dime on these simple hair treatments. All you need is a mixing bowl, and the desire for healthy looking hair. Wondering what food items can work wonders for your hair? 1. Beer

2. Brown Sugar

Brown sugar is used all the time in DIY face scrubs, and masks, however did you know you can put it into your hair. Brown sugar is used often times for it's exfoliating properties. When you mix a small amount of the sugar with honey, it does wonders for oily hair.

3. Cornstarch

No dry shampoo in sight? Use cornstarch! Cornstarch is amazing at soaking up an unnecessary oils on your scalp. Sprinkle a bit into your roots, and brush through with a comb. No more oily locks for you.

4. Champagne

This is an amazing tip for those with blonde hair. Champagne can actually perk up your blonde locks. Mix even parts of the bubbly wine with water, and rinse through your hair to get shiny, smooth results. Now, doesn't that sound luxurious!

5. Ketchup

Don't you hate when your hair turns green after an afternoon in the pool? Fix it with some ketchup! The tomato-based product cancels out any green tones in your hair. Wash out with shampoo, and reveal in your beautiful hair.

6. Earl Grey Tea

Calling all brunettes! Soaking your hair with Earl Grey tea can absolutely revitalize dull, dark strands. Brew a few cups of tea, let cool, and rinse though your hair. It's as simple as that for shiny strands.

7. Molasses And/Or Maple Syrup

Is you hair just completely dehydrated? Maybe a little maple syrup could add some life back into your strands. Apply a minimal amount of the syrup into your hair, and let it soak in. Wash out with a clarifying shampoo to remove any buildup. The syrup should make your hair look shiny, and feel moisturized.

8. Buttermilk

Dealing with dandruff? Apply a buttermilk hair mask. Buttermilk strengthens your strands, and can aid in the removal of dandruff. How cool is that?
