Is Kourtney Kardashian Seeking Sole Custody?

by Orli Matlow

In case you haven't "kept up," the news that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick broke up about two weeks ago has had people mourning in various different ways. For instance, some were mourning and going through the complete phases of grief on Twitter, while Kardashian herself has been taking it in stride. The oldest of the O.G. Kardashian sisters has been staying glamorous and leaning on her family for support, looking after the kids, and celebrating Penelope's birthday. Disick, however, doesn't seem to be doing the same — and I can't imagine this news will help the situation. According to Us Weekly, Kardashian may be seeing sole custody of her and Disick's kids, and has reportedly met with Hollywood attorney to the stars Laura Wasser — who is called the "disso queen," apparently — to talk over options.

Though the couple weren't married, they were together for 9 years and had three children: Mason, Penelope, and baby Reign, who is only 7 months old. Kardashian is reportedly worried about Disick's apparent downward spiral — which allegedly involves booze, drugs, and partying — and how it could effect their young children.

Laura Wasser has great track record as a divorce attorney, and has famously worked with Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds and Ashton Kutcher in their divorces — as well as with Khloé and Kim Kardashian.

Should this report be true, it's important that Kardashian's motivations are pure — which is to say, that she is concerned for the well being of her kids and only that. Honestly, I trust that the eldest Kardashian has good intentions — as seen on both the series and IRL, Kardashian has always seemed to be a mom first in the midst of all the Kardashian kraziness, and it would make sense that she would want to protect her kids at any cost if Disick really is dealing with some personal struggles and issues.

Though the public shouldn't have to "pick sides," the side everyone should be on is Team Mason, Penelope, and Reign first.
