A New Heartbreaking Paul Walker Tweet

by Alanna Bennett

Hollywood is still reeling from Paul Walker's sudden death this weekend, and none more so than his friends and family. This of course includes much of the cast of the Fast & Furious franchise — the seventh film was in the midst of shooting when the accident occurred, and most recently, Fast co-star Michelle Rodriguez has made (veiled) reference to the struggles of continuing on following Walker's death.

Here's what Rodriguez tweeted today:

I'm gonna carry this torch for you brother, with a forced smile on my face and Im gonna open my heart just cause your telling me to. (sic)

It's hard to argue, given the recent news, that Rodriguez is not referencing the death of her co-star and friend. It seems as if she's referring to the fact that Walker passed away in the middle of filming the seventh film in his most well-known franchise, and given the tweet's mention of passing the torch, we're going to go ahead and rest on that assumption.

It is, undoubtedly, incredibly hard for a cast and crew to deal with the loss of one of their own, and not just from a work perspective — many sets develop very close relationships, and we've already seen proof of the grief Walker's co-stars are feeling right now.

Rodriguez plays Letty Ortiz in the Fast & Furious franchise.
