All’s fair in love and war? It certainly seems to be the case in the Love Island villa. On June 21, original Islanders Amber Beckford and Ikenna Ekwonna were force to pack their bags and leave the villa, as the two became the latest to be voted off by the public. Their partners Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack were left single once again – though admittedly, not for long. Fans were quick to question the outcome of the vote, calling out the convenience for Hope and Polack, but also highlight how the show still has a diversity problem.

One Twitter user said “that’s gotta be fixed for Dami and Indiyah”, while another added “funny how the girls say Amber was one of the biggest personalities in the Villa yet on screen she was dead boring and rude…. shows how the show is produced to make certain people look bad.”

There was also additional controversy surrounding the exit of Beckford and Ekwonna, as it meant that three Black contestants had now been seen off the show in just one week. The Sun reported that this has sparked a second “race row” for the show, following the first episode which saw Beckford, Ekwonna, Hope, and Polack (the only Black contestants) all coupled up together by the public vote.

However, many fans were thrilled at Hope and Polack finally being able to be together and they didn’t hang around, hooking up with each other the following day. Ekwonna’s Twitter account - which was still run by family and friends during last night’s show - tweeted, “NAH WHAT MY CORPSE AINT EVEN COLD YET INDIYAHHHHH.“ And honestly… he’s not wrong.

So, here are the best reactions to the latest Love Island dumping.
