10 Beauty Products That Customize Any Makeup Look

by Miki Hayes

Something I love about makeup is that it's pretty unique to the user. The same product won't necessarily look the same on everybody. But even though your skin tone may bring out the pink in a lippie while someone else's brings out the purple from the same tube, there's still something fun about customizing your makeup— whether that's mixing pigments to create a new eyeshadow shade or finding that perfect lip liner, lipstick, and lipgloss combo. One of my favorite ways to personalize my makeup though, is with products I can mix into moisturizer.

And that's because not only can you customize the color, but you can also adjust the finish and even scent to your preferences. Say you want a sheer-coverage, matte base. Just add one or two drops of pigment into a mattifying moisturizer or primer. Want an all-over strobe? Mix a few drops of an illuminator into a dewy moisturizer or face oil. How about a bronze that smells like vanilla while it's developing rather than that typical self-tan smell? Well, you get the idea. The options are pretty much endless. So you can choose your ideal foundation, highlighter, and even tan, here are 10 products to try mixing in your moisturizer to achieve a custom finish:
