10 Products That Can Make You A Morning Person

by Taylor Fuller

Some days I'm up with the sun, but on other days I literally hit the snooze button 15 times before dragging myself out of my bed. That's why I am always looking for tips on how to become a morning person, and, rest assured, I have found several things that have made waking up and starting my day off on the right foot easier.

And it's not to say that being a night person isn't fun, but being a morning person does come with a lot of advantages. For instance, one study shows that people who wake up early are more proactive. The finding gives credence to Ben Franklin's timeless quote: "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise." However, waking up early is easier said than done.

First of all, the right alarm clock can do wonders, but there's more to being a 'morning person' than just waking up early; it also means that you are reasonably alert and productive. That's where a lot of these products come into play. From helping you get your caffeine fix to taking the stress out of making breakfast, these are the must-have products if you're ready to transition from night owl to morning lark.

Rise & Shine With The 'Sun'

Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation, $137, Amazon

Waking up is hard enough, but if you're getting up before the sun, it may feel impossible — and you're not just imagining that. Waking up in the dark is actually harder because your melatonin production (the chemical that regulates your sleep) stops when your body is exposed to sunlight. Enter: This light that simulates the sun. It's designed to wake you up gradually using light as opposed to jolting you out of your sleep cycle they way a regular alarm would.

If you're afraid you won't wake-up without a little nudge from an alarm, you can also choose from five natural wake-up sounds. It can also be used to help you fall asleep. The process here is reversed, the light will slowly dim, and you can set the sounds the way you would a white noise machine, lulling you into a deep sleep.
