Iconic Mary Tyler Moore From The '60s & '70s

Best known for her work on The Dick van Dyke Show and her very own The Mary Tyler Moore show, Moore was nothing short of an icon, and that's true of her fashion from the time, too — Mary Tyler Moore wore many iconic outfits in the '60s and '70s. Whether it was floral gowns at the Emmy Awards (of which she won five Best Actress trophies, a record Julia Louis Dreyfus just broke last year) lots of plaid on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, or even stylish flapper dresses from Thoroughly Modern Millie, the actress has worn countless fabulous outfits over the years.

As the star of a trailblazing show about a single woman in the workplace, it pretty much goes without saying that Moore was a very inspiring woman. She is remembered fondly by countless fellow celebrities, and will no doubt continue to have quite the legacy in years to come. In 1964, Moore and the eponymous Dick van Dyke Show star picked up the Best Actress and Best Actor trophies, respectively. They dressed like the winners they were, Moore especially with her sheer overlaid gown and her triple-stranded pearls.
