11 TV & Movie Themed Hotels You Can Actually Stay In

In light of recent, heartbreaking news that Game of Thrones would not be available for our viewing pleasure again until 2019, I think we could all use some good news. And, oh look, I have some! While you can't watch a new season, you can live like you're part of Westeros, at least for a night. That's got to add a little bit of padding to the hole in your heart. Even if you aren't a Game of Thrones fan, you know what it feels like to love the universe created by a movie or TV show. And now, there are themed hotels that you can stay in to be a part of the magic, including one for GoT!

My favorite part about watching any movie or TV show that envelopes my attention and thus fandom is pretending to be in it after the credits roll. In pre-school I was so taken with the Batman series that I insisted on dressing up in the Batsuit, fake abs and all, far past Halloween. And once the world of Harry Potter was projected onto a megaplex screen, forget it. I was, like every other kid, checking the mailbox daily for a Hogwarts acceptance letter with way more anxious excitement than I harbored while waiting for my college letters.

And now fans everywhere have a room, or a stage rather where they can fully immerse themselves into the essence of these worlds.

Game of Thrones — Lapland Hotels SnowVillage

At the Lapland Hotels SnowVillage, you can book a night or five (but it's recommended to only book one) in a Game of Thrones themed lodging. On ice. No, really, the temperature is kept between a "comfortable -2 and -5 degrees Celcius" which translates to 28.4 and 23 degrees Fahrenheit. This way you can really understand the emotional intention behind "winter is coming,"

Star Wars — Walt Disney World Resort

In July of 2017 it was revealed through Disney Park Blogs that a Star Wars inspired themed resort at Walt Disney World was in the works. The totally immersive experience would feature rooms with a view. Of the galaxy. Which is casual. Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, says, "Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you." Honestly, I'm getting emotional.

Harry Potter — Georgian House Hotel's Wizard Chambers

In Central London at the Georgian House Hotel you can stay in their "Wizard Chambers" to get a taste of Harry's marvelous world. Tucked behind a door disguised as a bookcase, you'll enter the chambers and find your chambers outfitted with gothic appeal. Let's just say that it's not exactly a cupboard under the stairs. No word yet if your Hogwarts acceptance letter is finally delivered through the letters slot.

Lord Of The Rings — Woodlyn Park's Hobbit Motels

At New Zealand's Woodlyn Park, you can live like a hobbit. Besides staying in either of the two Hobbit Motels, you can also choose to sleep in a plane.

Batman — Eden Motel

The room might not come with your own personal Alfred, but the digs are Bruce Wayne worthy. At Taiwan's Eden Motel, you can sleep like Batman for the night. Maybe not exactly like Batman. You'll sleep more soundly because you don't have the weight of Gotham's well being on your shoulders.

Frozen — Hotel de Glace

The Hotel de Glace in Canada might not be built for the sole purpose of you living out your Frozen dreams, but it is not the worst location for you to belt out your best Elsa impression. Mainly because, well, you're surrounded by ice. In a magical way. In a become one with the snow way.

Barbie — The Palms Casino Resort's Barbie Suite

If you're curious about experiencing the luxury of being a Barbie girl, you can head to Las Vegas where The Palms Casino Resort is home to a Barbie suite.

Disney Fairytales — Disneyland's Fairyland Suite

You've seen the classics. You know what that Princess life looks like. Prince Harry might be taken, but the Fairyland Suite at Disneyland will get you close to the lush life of a royal. Unfortunately, however, the room does not come with nice forest creatures to help you pick out your outfits and be your new best friends.

Alice In Wonderland — The Wonderland House

The Wonderland House in Britain is basically where Alice has been hanging this whole time. And I don't blame her. The quirky decor of the rooms works and makes a stay at this house delightfully weird. Even if you choose not to spend the night, you do have the option of throwing the most spectacularly on point tea party of all time.

Pirates Of The Caribbean — Disney's Caribbean Resort

At Disney's Caribbean Resort you can sleep sort of kind of in a pirate ship. Well, it's a pirate ship bed. The vibe is very "AHOY!" and is the perfect home base for an immersive adventure.
