For plenty of people, every day is Yoga Day. But since 2015, on the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, the world has celebrated both the Summer Solstice and yoga. So, in anticipation, check out these 11 quotes to share on Instagram for International Yoga Day on Jun. 21, because light and love can be shared in all kinds of ways — even through social media.

In 2015, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Nodi, suggested that Jun. 21, the summer solstice, would be the perfect date upon which to celebrate International Yoga Day, an annual holiday recognized by the United Nations General Assembly. The goal of the day? To raise awareness of yoga's many benefits, both physical and spiritual.

2017's theme is Yoga for Health, which embodies "the fact that yoga can contribute in a holistic way to achieving an equilibrium between mind and body," according to the UN's Yoga Day web page. "The organizers believe that this approach to health and wellbeing can make a direct and useful contribution to humankind's quest to achieve sustainable development and move towards lifestyles that are in harmony with nature."
