Hollywood's love of remakes isn't going away any time soon, which means that '90s kids will definitely get to see all their favorite movies re-imagined on the big screen. And while some movies don't need to be — and should not be — remade (let's not mess with a classic like Toy Story, OK?), other '90s classics are just begging to get another shot in the spotlight. These 13 '90s movies that desperately need remakes all deserve another look, and could definitely benefit from being updated for modern audiences.
A lot of '90s movies that desperately need remakes need them so badly because they are either shockingly relevant to modern events or could really use a lesson in diversity. Fans will groan about messing with alleged classics, but, hey, you can't please everyone (just take the all-female Ghostbusters reboot). Looking back at the movies of the '90s, it's tough to say which ones are too iconic to touch (please, Hollywood gods, never remake Clueless) and which ones could use an update in the new millennium. Safe to say not all '90s fans will agree on what movies to remake and which ones to leave alone, but I think all fans can agree that these awesome movies deserve to be seen by more people, and if remakes can help make that happen, then it's never a bad thing.

I'm not sure we need another American Pie movie in the world, but a gender swapped American Pie movie is one that I would pay to see.

'A Little Princess' (1995)
Alfonso Cuarón's A Little Princess is beautiful, but with modern technology it could be even more breathtaking, especially if done with minimal CGI. Also, an update could help make the plot a little less exploitative of Indian culture.

A Craft reboot/sequel is currently being developed by Sony, but a remake wouldn't be totally out of the question. Feminist witches never go out of style.

'Total Recall' (1990)
Making a remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Total Recall is not easy, just ask Colin Farrell who made a failed attempt in 2012. Still, it's such a fun plot that it might be worth trying again.

With wealth inequality growing and a shocking amount of discussion of nuclear war, a Deep Impact remake about the decision of who gets to survive an apocalypse event has never felt more relevant.
As time goes on, with movies being rebooted and remade every day, '90s babies will get to see more and more of their favs turned into new Hollywood blockbusters. As long as it's not Clueless, we'll be OK.
