These 'GoT' Characters Probably Won't Survive

The end is near — both metaphorically and quite literally — on Game of Thrones. As time draws closer to the Season 7 premiere, my spidey senses have begun tingling, predicting that a ton of our favorite Game of Thrones characters will die in Seasons 7 and 8. Why wouldn't there be a heavy death toll? This is a show predicated on that fact that death comes swiftly, randomly, and regularly; people will definitely die by the dozens in the final two seasons of the hit fantasy show.

Additionally, there is a big battle on the horizon. Well, scratch that: There are two big battles, and both appear to predict huge changes to the narrative. The first battle will happen between the warring houses of Westeros. The Iron Throne may currently belong to Cersei Lannister, but it's been made very clear by one Daenerys Targaryen that there is still room for debate about who actually deserves the crown and the throne. Alliances will be made, broken, and fought for in the upcoming season. That spells death, and those deaths will not be limited to measly background characters. There will be big deaths and we should all prepare emotionally.

The same goes of the impending war between the White Walkers and the humans of Westeros. Bran foretold of this war in his visions. And the Season 7 teaser — complete with Jon Snow's warning that there is only one war that matters — confirms that there will be bigger fish to fry than the political machinations of people. Again, death is looming in this battle, too.

In short, there's a lot of battle a-brewing and coupled with the end of the series on the horizon, there's no doubt in my mind that plenty of our favorites will die off rapidly. But who's going to totally eat it before Game of Thrones comes to its official end? Read on at your peril, fam.

1. Jaime Lannister

Jaime's death would be an emotional one, but it would be the easiest way for the opposition to really mess with Cersei's head. If it means getting the advantage on the battlefield, then it's probably lights out for the eldest Lannister man.

2. Tyrion Lannister

I really hope I'm wrong, but Tyrion could easily meet his end before the end of Game of Thrones. He's conniving and close to Daenerys, a strong contender for the throne, which makes him a prime target.

3. Jon Snow

He's the total package, but in going with my gut that Daenerys ultimately ends up on the Iron Throne, I think that means that the man destined to become a close ally of hers — Jon — is going to end up paying the ultimate sacrifice to ensure her destiny.

4. Bran Stark

Bran has the potential to kick a lot of butts with his ability to see the events of the past and future. Yet something really worries me about him being a young man with that kind of power. It could make him an easy target for anyone looking to get the upper hand in battle or pursuit of the Iron Throne.

5. Cersei Lannister

Do I even need to explain how dead Cersei is? I mean, she's going to be alive when Season 7 premieres, but trust me, homegirl is going down.

6. Olenna Tyrell

She's a sassy broad, but she's super old and the last of the Tyrells, a decimated noble family. She has "I don't make it past Season 7, Episode 6" written all over her.

7. Theon Greyjoy

Theon has gone through some stuff with a capital "S." I would imagine that Theon would get used as a pawn, and then murdered by Cersei Lannister to really hurt Jon and Sansa.

8. Petyr Baelish

Ugh, Littlefinger totally deserves whatever he has coming for him. I don't care how it happens to him death-wise, but please let it happen quickly and be super murder-y.

9. Davos Seaworth

Poor Davos. He's been through a lot in the last few seasons. I have a feeling he'd get offed in a really cruel and unexpected way, and it would probably happen late in the final season just to really break viewers' hearts.

10. Sansa Stark

It would be a cruel death, to be sure, but Sansa seems poised to do some dirty dealings in Season 7 to maintain power. If she doesn't watch herself, she could meet the pointy end of a knife, neck first.

11. Daario Naharis

We'll probably learn that Daario has died offscreen in a relatively matter-of-fact way. My money is on Daario getting offed in some really silly tavern fight, and the news of his death coming at a moment when Daenerys feels like giving up and returning to Essos.

12. Tormund Giantsbane

Tormund is never one to stay away from a good fight. As a loyal ally of Jon Snow's, there's probably death awaiting Tormund on the battlefield as he fights in Jon's army against the White Walkers.

13. Grey Worm

I predict that if and when Grey Worm does finally bite the dust, he'll do it on the battlefield while defending Daenerys. It would be a noble death.

Farewell, dear friends. It was fun while it lasted.
