Every '90s Kids Wants These Reunions To Happen

Blame it on the zeitgeist, but it feels like our present is all about the past. No wonder there are so damn many reunions that every '90s kid is waiting for. And I'm not talking about just one creative field. Whether it's music, television or even movies, there's something to cross your fingers for. Sure, we've gotten a lot of reunions already so far, but there's no such thing as too much when it comes to seeing the band back together. Your TV, movie, and music families basically raised you, so why wouldn't you want to relive the glory days you had with them?

Listen, don't beat yourself up for yearning for these reunions; it's natural. Aside from the human component, there's also the undeniable fact that the '90s were a decade that was bursting at the seams with raw talent. (No shade to our present times, of course, but the nostalgia filter is so real.) Whether you couldn't stop listening to your favorite boy band or were glued to your TV set to find out if Angela Chase would ever make it work with a guy who felt like her psychic opposite, the '90s was an incredible time for entertainment.

1

'My So-Called Life'

Take two of the biggest dreamboats in pop culture (Claire Danes, Jared Leto), add a dash of plaid, and make sure the series ended on the ultimate cliffhanger (but no spoilers here). Given the love being shown to the fashion from the show right now, this is just crying out for some canny TV company to reunite our two leads for an adult version.

2

Spice Girls

Did anything the Spice Girls achieve separately come even close to what they accomplished together? Sure, Victoria Beckham has her own fashion empire, and Mel B has become a familiar face on TV, but I'd trade that in a heartbeat for a new Spice Girls song.

3

'Sabrina The Teenage Witch'

It's not like Melissa Joan Hart has totally vanished; it's just that none of her adult projects had even a 10th of the charm of her work as a child and teenager. Forget Melissa & Joey and reunite Hart with Caroline Rhea (Hilda) and Beth Broderick (Zelda) in an adult version of the hit show.

4

'The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air'

This is just crying out for a reunion: Will Smith, despite his stellar movie career, has never had as suave a role as Fresh Prince Will (no, not even in Hitch). And after this photo of the actors reuniting (to raise money for the charity Sweet Blackberry Foundation) dropped in March 2017, it felt like even the cast was prompting us to support a reunion.

5

*NSYNC

They may have gone on "temporary hiatus" in 2002, but their 15 year failure for that hiatus to end is bumming me out even now. Justin Timberlake may be dabbling in both movies and music, but his pop stylings can never reach the dizzy heights of his boy band work.

6

'Friends'

In 2017, Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) dismissed the idea of a revival, stating:

"I don't see it happening. What would it be about? The thing we liked about that show is it was like 20-somethings and they were their own family and now they all have families. So what are we going to watch?"

But I disagree. A Friends reunion showing the various couples on their show and their families and the dynamics between them (they'd have to all live in the same building, because obviously) sounds like a no-brainer.

7

'The Matrix'

Because why limit ourselves to television shows? Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, and Carrie-Ann Moss were all equally electrifying in this dark look at reality. Given that the creepy technological themes of the film have only become more relevant as time has gone on, this is one entertainment property that's crying out for a reunion.

8

'Dawson's Creek'

Please. Just please. James Van Der Beek's television roles are fine, but nowhere in the same league as his incarnation of Dawson; Katie Holmes seems to be stuck in TV purgatory being eternally forced to play Jackie Kennedy (in 2011's The Kennedys, in the 2017 follow-up The Kennedys: After Camelot), and Joshua Jackson's biggest post-Dawson's Creek TV highlight was guest starring in one episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Can't we just get the gang back together again?

9

Hole

Because Courtney Love has been teasing a reunion for years, and, at some point, she's going to have to stop talking the talk and start walking the walk.

10

'Moesha'

Focused on the life of a middle class African-American family through the eyes of their teen daughter, wouldn't it be cool to get a Moesha reunion where Moesha brings up a teen daughter of her own?

11

'Married... With Children'

Because this sitcom never got the critical reappraisal it deserved, because it's comforting to see this down to earth depiction of a marriage, and because Ed O'Neill has only got funnier (see his performance as Jay Pritchett in Modern Family).

12

'Saved By The Bell'

Because I have to know whether Zack or Kelly are still together or not. I can't be the only one, right?

Since we don't (yet) have the technology to construct a time machine, there's only one way forward: petitioning the actors and musicians of the '90s to stage reunions. Let's do it.
