Superhero movies have officially conquered Hollywood. Of the top four movies at the domestic box office this year, three of them feature comic book heroes: Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. But the year's not over yet, and there are still plenty of movies coming out this fall/winter superhero fans should see. A couple of these films are legit superhero movies from powerhouses Marvel and DC, but the vast majority are movies outside of the superhero realm that will still appeal to fans of the genre.
These other films are quite diverse as far as their subject matter is concerned, but they all have some elements that look like they could have been pulled from the pages of a comic book. For instance, you'll find movies that feature a single remarkable person taking on evil forces against all odds; an extinction-level event that must be stopped at all costs; and films boasting loads of over-the-top action and near-superhuman feats. You'll also encounter aliens, superspies, ninjas, monsters, and androids to go along with your caped crusaders, gods of thunder, and wonder women.
