21 Recipes You Can Make With All Your Leftover Halloween Candy

by Nina Matti

As much as it pains me to admit this, there's only so much candy a human being can consume. While sugar lovers' favorite time of year is quickly approaching — Halloween, of course — the days that follow the holiday can be particularly difficult for folks who have a sweet tooth — like me, for instance. There is a fine line between savoring ever last morsel of your leftover Trick-or-Treat sweets and having a terrible stomach ache. One of two things will happen in the days after Halloween: You will either keep munching on the remaining candy until you hit the bottom of the barrel, which will inevitably contain only your least favorite candies, or they will get stale and you will be forced to admit defeat and toss them in the trash. To avoid this, you can look to your crafty side to find recipes that use leftover Halloween candy so you can repurpose those tasty treats. Those sad leftover candies don't have to go to waste. As it turns out, stale candy still tastes delicious when it's baked into cookies, cakes, and other tasty post-Halloween treats.

I can't even pretend that these recipes are somehow healthier than the candy that goes into them, but repurposing your leftover Halloween candy makes it so much easier to pawn off on others if you really need to just get it out of your house. Bringing, say, banana bread Kit Kat muffins into the office is bound to go over much better than offering up a sad bowl of old candy remnants. Who am I kidding? These 21 recipes to use up leftover Halloween candy are so irresistible, they may not end up leaving your house after all.
