Winter days tend to be dreary and dark, which can leaving a lot of people feeling sluggish and tired. Even if you enjoy the season, it's difficult to not want to stay snuggled under the covers on snowy mornings. Spring is officially a little over a month away, but if you need a little energy boost to get you through winter, there are several products that can help you stop dragging your feet (or boots, so to speak).

There are various factors in play that may make you feel extra groggy during the winter months. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is common mental health issue that Psychology Today reported affects 10 million people in the U.S. An additional 10 to 20 percent of the population is believed to experience a mild form of SAD. As Dr. Marc Romano of the Delphi Behavioral Health Group told Bustle in October, "The predominant symptoms of SAD include sadness, decreased activity, anxiety, irritability, and daytime tiredness."

If you don't struggle with SAD, your sleeping habits could be the source of your tiredness. According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the shorter and darker days during the winter season can throw off your circadian rhythm, leading daytime sleepiness, fatigue, and mood changes. What's more, Verily reported that keeping your apartment at a toasty 75 degrees Fahrenheit may even contribute to tiredness during winter.

The National Health Service (NHS) reports that activities such as getting enough sunlight, exercising, eating balanced meals, and sticking to a sleep schedule are natural ways to feel less fatigued throughout this chilly season. But, IMO, it doesn't hurt to have a few fancy products that can make you feel more awake. Here are eight things for people who need an energy boost during the winter.
