Considering the United States was founded on breaking up with England like a rebellious adolescent, you'd think that Americans wouldn't be so focused on the royal family. The states, however, celebrated as hard as the rest of the world when Prince Harry of Wales announced his engagement to Meghan Markle last November, and the news coverage hasn't let up since then. With the big event just a few short months away, it's obviously time to start planning your viewing party, complete with royal wedding games to play while those two crazy kids say "I do."
In case you managed to avoid the news so far, Prince Harry and Markle, an actress known for her role in Suits, met in 2016 and hit it off. A year later, they announced their engagement on Nov. 27, and Kensington Palace later tweeted that the couple plans to to tie the knot on May 19, 2018.
Before we begin, a caveat: Drinking games are, of course, the greatest type of game to play during any wedding, let alone a royal one, but when Prince William and Kate Middleton got married in 2011, their ceremony started at 3 a.m. ET. While there's no word yet on what time Prince Harry's wedding will happen, if it's anywhere near as early as his brother's, it's going to be too early in the morning to even think about alcohol. Therefore, the following list of games for the royal wedding is totally safe for work — or going straight back to bed once the ceremony is over. A lady's got to have her priorities.

What's the most important part of a royal wedding? Theoretically, it's the union of two people who are in love. But that's not what gets the most attention — that honor goes to The Dress. Before it's revealed, round up your friends and place bets on details about Markle's dress.

Host A Fabulous Hat Contest
No royal wedding is complete without dozens of fabulously ornate hats perched on the heads of the elite. Get into the spirit with a ridiculous hat contest. The winner gets to take home a papier-mâché reconstruction of the hat crafted by the losers.

Play Royal Wedding Bingo
Make a bingo card with at least the following features:
- Someone compliments Markle's dress
- Commentators mention Kate Middleton
- Commentators mention Pippa Middleton's 2011 dress
- Commentators mention Princess Diana when she's not relevant
- Markle's dogs make an appearance
- Someone says Prince Harry is "settling down" from his party years

Bet On The Newest Royal Baby
This one will take some planning, but it might pay off. Kate Middleton is currently pregnant with her third child, so there might be a royal baby at the ceremony. Round up your friends and bet on the day the little one will be born.

If the Illuminati are anywhere near as active as conspiracy theorists claim, you can best they'll make an appearance at the royal wedding. See who can spot the most Illuminati references. Bonus points if men in black come to cart you and your friends away before the end of the ceremony.

Gather up random facts about the royal family and set up a trivia game to play during commercial breaks. The first one to get ten questions right gets to wear a tiara.

Write the numbers one through five on a sheet of paper, then cut each out and attach them to popsicle sticks. Throughout the ceremony, rate famous people's outfits using your makeshift system. Not even the aristocracy is exempt from the long arm of the fashion police.

No wedding is complete without a cake. Host a wedding-themed cupcake bake-off at your place before the ceremony. The best part? You now have food to snack on while watching the two lovebirds get hitched.
