This Touching 'Fresh Prince' Reunion Will Make You Cry

I hope you're ready to catch some big old feelings, because, on Monday, there was a Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reunion, and it's sure to bring a few tears to your eyes. Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton on Fresh Prince, shared a shot of the cast reunion on his Instagram along with a caption that will tug hard at your heart strings. The image shows the entire main Fresh Prince cast who depicted the Banks Family, including Tatianna Ali (Ashley), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Vivian), and, of course, Will Smith and Ribeiro, all keeping it distinctly fresh in a bright, happy pose together.

Ribeiro added the caption, "Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family. Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete," and that sound you can hear is my heart totally breaking over that touching sentiment. Avery sadly passed away in 2014, aged 65, and is still warmly remembered by fans and his fellow cast mates for his hilarious portrayal as Philip Banks. As the strict, no-nonsense father to Carlton, Hilary, and Ashley, and uncle to Will, Phil provided some of the funniest, and most emotional, Fresh Prince moments ever on the show.

While Avery's absence can be felt in the picture, it's still deeply touching to see the Fresh Prince cast remain tight after all these years. The very fact that even Geoffrey is present to catch up with his on-screen family fills me with such joy, you guys, I can barely even tell you. Clearly, the Fresh Prince cast are still feeling the same love for each other that fans feel for them and their characters after all these years. And that's incredibly touching.

In this age of revivals and reboots, speculation has persisted for years that a Fresh Prince revival should happen at some point. While it's no surprise that fans would want to see their beloved show and its characters make a return in some way, it's also evident that it's likely never going to happen.

Telling E! News back in 2016 of the likelihood for a potential Fresh Prince revival, Smith said, "I don't think ever, like pretty close to when hell freezes over," while his co-star Ribeira said in 2014, "Since the passing of my favorite dad in the world, ever on TV, James Avery passed, the chances of a Fresh Prince coming back together will not happen".

So it looks as though Fresh Prince fans will have to settle for casual reunions like this one for their modern fix of the show. And if all of these reunions can be as beautiful as this one, then I think most fans will be totally cool with that fact.
