On Sunday, Game of Thrones fans who love music will be faced with a difficult choice — and no, it's not whether to support incest and hope that Dany and Jon Snow finally get it on. The MTV Video Music Awards will air at the same time as the Game of Thrones finale, placing some television viewers in a quandary. Do I want to watch Lorde bop around onstage, or do I want to watch Cersei possibly slaughter all the characters I love? It's a hard choice. But fortunately, if you decide to watch the VMAs first, there are plenty of apps to help you avoid Game of Thrones spoilers.

It could be hard to remember not to check Twitter if you haven't begun the new GoT episode exactly at 9 p.m. on Sunday. And, like Regina George's hair, Twitter is full of secrets — and spoilers. But you can't just avoid Twitter. You have to see what people are saying about Katy Perry's hosting abilities, but could be hit with a headline about who died on GoT. And Facebook is dangerous, too. Honestly, is anywhere safe from GoT spoilers? Can't a person watch the VMAs in peace?

Don't worry, all is not lost. There are some ways to prevent yourself from ruining the GoT finale just because you wanted to see if Miley Cyrus would twerk again onstage.

Mute Words On Twitter

Yes, you can totally do this. The Telegraph shared this particularly helpful tool ahead of the Season 7 premiere. If you use TweetDeck, you can go to Settings > Mute, and then enter in the words or phrases you want to block. You can also mute words and hashtags via Twitter itself as shown here.

Use Unspoiler

This is also a tactic shared by The Telegraph. If you use Google Chrome, you can download the Unspoiler plug-in. You enter in terms and subjects that you don't want to hear about, and Unspoiler will scan all of your webpages and replace potentially spoiler-heavy headlines with spoiler warnings. But it only applies for your computer, so you have to make sure you're being careful on your phone.

Use Social Fixer

This is another Chrome plug-in, but applies specifically to Facebook. Social Fixer allows you to filter out posts based on words and phrases you enter, such as "#Jonaerys". You can also apply this to political posts, or that one friend who posts about their cat, like, every day.

Love Tumblr? Use Tumblr Savior

If you just can't bring yourself to spend some time off of Tumblr while you watch the VMAs and not the GoT finale, don't worry. The Chrome plug-in Tumblr Savior allows you to make a "black list" of words and phrases you don't want to see on your feed. Another cool feature? You can make a "white list", which means that you will always see posts with those words or phrases on your Tumblr feed.

Turn Off Your Phone, Shut Down Your Computer, And Crawl Into A Hole Until You Watch The Episode

Honestly, that's about the only surefire way to avoid spoilers entirely, especially regarding GoT. Because even if you successfully block everything on your phone and computer, there's no way to predict whether that over-zealous fan in the office might ruin the episode for you.

Or, you know, watch the finale live. But if you really can't bear the thought of missing the chance to see if Kanye West will somehow storm the stage again, hopefully some of these methods will help you navigate the dangerous waters of the spoiler-filled internet.
