As Beyoncé sings, "If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it." But celebrities rarely play by those rules in relationships. Some famous couples last a lifetime in Hollywood without walking down the aisle. But that doesn't mean these long-lasting partnerships can escape marriage rumors. When it comes to one couple that continues to catch Hollywood's eye, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are not married although they have faced rumors about it. What's true is that they have dated since 2011 and have two daughters together. The Place Beyond the Pines co-stars fell victim to marriage gossip in September 2016, but People magazine confirmed they were still just dating. And as source told the magazine in April 2016, “They may be very private, but they still have a fun life.”

However, both actors have publicly declared their love and appreciation for each other, and that should be just as satisfying as a "Facebook official relationship status." No ring can capture the love Gosling and Mendes have for each other. Considering how private the two are, I doubt we'll see any glimmer of a ring or wedding photos any time soon. But fear not! Since Mendes likes to stay mum on the subject of her relationship, let's revisit some of Gosling's most loving quotes about her.

Eva Is Always Down To Lend A Hand

Gosling gave an interview with the Sunday Style edition of the Daily Telegraph in July 2015 where he cited Mendes as a huge help on his film Lost River. Thanks to her keen eye and fashion sense, Mendes helped the movie's costume designer find outfits at the Salvation Army. "She hates credit and she'll even be mad that I'm giving her that credit," Gosling said. "But she was very helpful in so many ways."

Ryan Only Has Eyes For Eva

In December 2015, the La La Land actor told Hello! magazine that the only quality he's looking for in a woman is "that she's Eva Mendes." "I know that I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with," Gosling said.

A year later, Gosling told GQ magazine Mendes and their daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, made his life complete. "Eva's the dream mother, and they're dream babies, and it's like a dream that I'm having right now," Gosling said. "I'm dreaming it all. So I feel so lucky."

During the 2017 Golden Globes, Gosling gave what was arguably the most swoon-worthy speech of all time. While accepting the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, Gosling dedicated his award to his "lady":

"I would like to try to thank one person properly and say while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer. If she hadn't have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So sweetheart, thank you."

Although they haven't walked down the aisle just yet, hopefully you'll catch them walking arm in arm on the red carpet at the Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 26.
