Ariana Grande's Mom Speaks Out About The Manchester Attack

It's been more than a week since the explosions following an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester left 22 dead and even more people injured, and it's still hard to imagine how something so horrifying could have happened — especially with so many kids and teenagers involved. And although Grande herself has shared her thoughts on what happened over the last few days, now it's her mom's turn. On Monday, Joan Grande released a statement on the Manchester attack in honor of Memorial Day, and her words are a sweet way of extending her love toward those who have been affected by it.

Joan shared her message on Twitter, opening up about what a difficult week this has been for her. At the same time, she also reached out to the victims and their families, saying she wanted to join her daughter in offering any help they might need to them. She also took the opportunity to thank anyone who was on the scene helping on the night of the attacks, as well as the military in general in light of the holiday.

Aside from retweeting one of Grande's recent statements, this is the first time that her mother has spoken about the attack.

According to ABC News, Joan was headed backstage to see Ariana when the explosion happened, and helped usher several fans to safety.

Last week, Ariana released a lengthy statement of her own, promising to return to Manchester to raise money to help the victims of the attack.

It's hard to imagine what the Grande family is going through right now, and even more difficult to picture what the past week has been like for the victims of the attack and their loved ones. Hopefully, Ariana and Joan's determination to help will allow the healing process to begin for everyone involved.
