Arie From 'The Bachelor's Mugshot From The '00s Has Resurfaced & He Looks SO Different

The Bachelor's latest leading mean doesn't have an entirely squeaky clean record. Before his Bachelor Nation days, Arie Luyendyk Jr. had a mugshot taken after he was arrested, as a recent Change.org petition brought to mind once again. When did this incident occur and how did the race-car driver fare after it? Seeing as though he's had a somewhat successful racing career and, you know, he's the Bachelor, he's doing pretty OK after his bout of trouble.

Luyendyk was arrested in October 2008 while in Scottsdale, Arizona, according to TMZ. Within six days, the Bachelor star reportedly was found driving with a suspended license and driving without valid registration.

A police report obtained by Radar Online provides further insight into what led to Luyendyk's arrest. He was allegedly following another vehicle too closely and made an unsafe lane change, which led to him being pulled over on October 23, 2008. It was then that the officer discovered that he was driving with the suspended license. Since he was unable to show the officer that his license had been reinstated by the Motor Vehicle Department, he was arrested. He later pled guilty to one count of driving with a suspended license.

Luyendyk's past didn't prevent him from appearing on The Bachelorette, though. Four years after his 2008 arrest, he appeared on Emily Maynard's season of the show to try and find love. During the season, Luyendyk made it to the final two before Maynard heartbreakingly broke up with him and instead chose Jef Holm. Yet, things didn't end up working out for the Maynard and Holm as they broke up months after the show's finale.

Luyendyk didn't only capture the Bachelorette's heart during the season, but viewers' hearts, as well. People felt for the "kissing bandit" when he got his heart broken during The Bachelorette. He was also never one to get into much of the drama. He may not be Dean or Peter, who were frontrunners for The Bachelor gig, but he still seems like a nice guy who's doing great these days after some heartbreak.

After his time on The Bachelorette, Luyendyk seemingly stayed out of trouble and left the reality TV world behind him. Instead, he focused on his career. Like his father, Arie Luyendyk Sr., Luyendyk has made a name for himself in the racing world. He's competed in the Indy 500 and received a bronze medal in the 2015 X-Games, according to PopSugar. He's also competed in a slew of other competitions around the world and was also voted as the "Most Popular Driver" four years in a row. Not too shabby.

When he's not racing around the track, the busy Bachelor's also been making a name for himself in real estate. He's been a real estate agent in Arizona since 2016, according to his own tweet. He told his followers that he had passed the Arizona Real Estate exam in August 2016 and even jokingly described himself as an up-and-coming "mogul" in the field.

So, it looks like his past arrest isn't really getting in the way of anything. Luyendyk's found success in race-car driving and real estate and now he's taking over one of the most popular reality TV dating shows of all time. It will definitely be interesting to see how the dynamic former Bachelorette contestant fares at finding love.
