While fans were still mourning the tragic loss of Carrie Fisher on Dec. 27, the news broke that her mother, Debbie Reynolds, died at the age of 84 just one day later. TMZ reported that Reynolds' son, Todd Fisher, confirmed that she passed away following a stroke earlier in the day. After Fisher's prolific career in Hollywood that spanned decades — kicking off with an iconic role in Singin' In the Rain — her fans are heartbroken at her loss and are showing their love for the actor on Twitter. Many of those fans are fellow stars whose lives were touched by Reynolds in some way, and though celebrities' reactions to Reynolds' death mostly show complete sadness, there's some anger mixed in there as well. Mostly, anger at 2016 for taking away so many beloved celebrities — especially Reynolds and her daughter in such quick succession.

All of those emotions are completely valid, as are any other reactions to this devastating news. But if there's any small consolation, TMZ reported that Reynolds' last words were, "I want to be with Carrie," and now, the mother and daughter are together. Many celebrities' also incorporated Fisher into their messages of grief as tributes to both icons flooded social media.

At least Reynolds only had to live 24 hours without her daughter.

Heartbreaking for mothers and daughters alike.

For many people, Fisher and Reynolds will always be linked.

Reynolds was just as iconic as her daughter.

Others sent their love to the family that is now dealing with two great losses, especially Fisher's daughter and Reynolds' granddaughter, Billie Lourd.

And of course, they paid tribute to Reynolds' immense talent.

Reynolds' loss will be felt deeply by her family, friends, and all those who were touched by her countless incredible performances.
